The Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women (GROW) Project is intensifying efforts to promote inclusive economic success for women across Uganda by encouraging stronger support systems within families and communities.

The project’s latest campaign highlights the importance of collaboration between men and women in building successful businesses and peaceful homes.
According to the campaign, economic empowerment cannot thrive in isolation but requires understanding, support, and shared planning at household level.
The GROW Project is a flagship initiative of the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development in partnership with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda. The initiative is supported by the World Bank.
The project was established to address challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and to create more opportunities for women-led businesses to grow and compete effectively in different markets.
Among its major objectives are increasing the number of women-owned enterprises across the country, improving productivity through skills training and technical support, and strengthening the competitiveness of women-led businesses.
In its latest awareness campaign, the project released a powerful visual showing a woman engaged in technical work alongside a message encouraging men to support women both at home and in business.
The message reads: “Men who listen, support, and plan together with women build stronger homes, better businesses, and more peaceful families.”
According to the campaign, respecting women’s voices and involving them in decision-making benefits the entire family and creates a stronger foundation for economic growth.
The GROW Project continues to reach women in both urban and rural areas across Uganda, ensuring that female entrepreneurs can access financial support, training opportunities, and business development services.
Women interested in benefiting from the project are encouraged to contact their local District or City GROW Project Focal Person for more information and support.
